Top Summer Concert Series In The U.S. Returns To Somers Point

For its 31st year, Somers Point is set to deliver unforgettable musical experiences with the highly anticipated 2024 AtlantiCare Concerts on the Beach series, launching later this month. Coming off its recognition as the 2023 Best Outdoor Concert Series in America by USA Today, the series promises exceptional performances against the stunning backdrop of Somers Point's Bayshore.

All concerts in the 2024 AtlantiCare Concerts on the Beach series are free and start at 7 p.m. at William Morrow Beach, located on Bay Avenue between Higbee and New Jersey Avenues in Somers Point, NJ. Concertgoers are encouraged to bring beach chairs and blankets to enjoy the live music and the beautiful views of the sunset reflecting off the bay with the Ocean City skyline in the background.

The diverse lineup includes international recording artists, Grammy Award winners, members of the Rock ‘n’ Roll and International Blues Halls of Fame, as well as top regional acts. The genres range from country, classic and jam rock, blues, soul, jazz, and swing.
The series kicks off on June 14 with Bywater Call, an emerging Americana/Canadian roots rock and jam band known for their big southern soul sound, marking their Jersey Shore debut. On June 21, The Billy Walton Band, featuring Destinee Monroe, takes the stage, offering a dynamic blend of rock, Motown, funk, disco, soul, and blues.
"The AtlantiCare Concerts on the Beach Series is not just about music; it's about creating unforgettable experiences that bring our community together in celebration," said Dennis Tapp, mayor of Somers Point. "We are thrilled to be hosting Bywater Call and The Billy Walton Band, two acts that perfectly encapsulate the spirit of summer with their unique blend of genres."
Michael Charleton, CEO of AtlantiCare, highlighted the cultural significance of the event, stating, "This series is a testament to the vibrant culture and diverse talent that the Jersey Shore has to offer, and AtlantiCare is proud to be a part of it."
The Somers Point Beach Concert Series is partially funded by the New Jersey State Council on the Arts/Department of State, a Partner Agency of the National Endowment for the Arts, through a grant administered by the Atlantic County Office of Cultural & Heritage Affairs.
For those using public transportation, buses stop on Shore Road, with a short walk east on New Jersey Avenue to Bay Avenue. The beach offers a wheelchair-accessible area near the stage on the Higbee Avenue side, and other special needs such as assisted listening devices can be arranged with two weeks' notice by emailing somerspointbeachconcerts@yahoo.com.
