Mark your calendar for the Southern New Jersey Coast Guard Ball on Saturday, April 27, 2024, at the Wildwoods Convention Center. This unique event combines tradition and celebrates the special relationship between the Coast Guard and the community and provides an opportunity for the public to experience a formal Coast Guard Ball while also connecting the community with Coast Guard members from around the region. Cape May County vineyards are producing delicious wines and here is your chance to enjoy them with round-trip transportation via Cape May MAC trolley. Board the trolley at the Emlen Physick Estate, 1048 Washington St., and travel to the Bellevue Tavern in Cape May Court House for a delicious lunch. Then it’s back on board the trolley for an afternoon of touring and sampling wine selections by vintners at Jessie Creek Winery and Natali Vineyards. -May 7, Feasting On History Fundraiser

Historic Cold Spring Village kicks off the 2024 season with its signature fundraiser, Feasting on History.  The annual restaurant gala is one of the most anticipated social events of the season offering guests an opportunity to network with businesses and the community before the summer season begins.  Feasting on History is now in its 23rd year and promises to be an amazing and fun event. It will be held at the Naval Air Station Wildwood Aviation Museum at the Cape May Airport on Tuesday, May 7th at 6 pm.  Cape May County’s favorite restaurants, wineries, distilleries, and breweries generously donate delicious food, signature dishes, wine, craft beers, and desserts.  Last year over 500 guests enjoyed a night of food, music, and networking while celebrating the mission of Historic Cold Spring Village.

-May 10-11, The Wildwoods Spring Car Show

After a years-long absence, the Wildwoods Spring Car Show will once again be held on the world famous Wildwoods Boardwalk as the Spring Kustom Rod and Muscle Car Show comes to the Jersey Shore - Friday, May 10 and Saturday, May 11!

As the sun rises over the Atlantic Ocean, the sound of revving engines will fill the air, signaling the start of a weekend packed with classic cars, hot rods and vintage vehicles.  The Spring Custom Rod and Muscle Show will feature classic cars displayed from 26th Street to Oak Avenues on the Wildwoods Boardwalk, where visitors can stroll the boards and experience the craftsmanship and beauty of hundreds of restored classic cars from 10 am to 3 pm.  As the cars exit the Boardwalk at approximately 3 pm Saturday afternoon, the top 40 cars from the show will be on display in Downtown Wildwood at Byrne Plaza. Show winners will be announced at 6 pm from the stage at Byrne Plaza, with prizes awarded to the Top 40, Best of Show Stock and Best Modified.  This event will be held rain or shine.

On May 18, 2024, the Coast Guard Community Festival will again be held at U.S. Coast Guard Training Center Cape May. The gates to the base are open to the public to explore all the sights, ships, helicopters, food and shopping vendors, live music, kid-friendly activities and much more. It is another unique opportunity to mingle amongst our Coast Guard members, their families, and Recruits as well as attendees from Cape May County and beyond. The event is FREE!

Festivities following the Unlocking of the Ocean include opening of the Kite Sales Tent, Friday Night Social via the local kite club and the 9:00 p.m. Illuminated Night Kite Fly. Saturday includes the Silent and Loud Auctions (open to all); and Saturday and Sunday include the flying of large inflatable kites, team flying, as well as family games from 9 a.m. – 6 p.m. Monday features the World Indoor Kite Exhibition inside the Wildwoods Convention Center. -May 26, Patrick Corcoran Run To Remember

On Sunday, May 28, 2023, the 6th Annual Run to Remember will be held in North Wildwood to benefit our veterans and those that have lost loved ones in service to their county. This run is going towards a great cause for our veterans who have guarded our borders and protected our country. All proceeds from this event will be donated to our veterans. Registration fee is $35. Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. and the race starts at 8:30 a.m.

This is a chip timed event with the following award categories: 1st overall male and female and top male and female in the following age groups: 1-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+. Race Start/Finish and registration will be at the North Wildwood Lifeguard Station, 15th Street and the Beach. All levels of runners are welcomed! -June 22, Atlantic City Grand Prix Power Boat Race

The Atlantic City Grand Prix will bring world-class powerboat racing in the ocean in view of those on the Boardwalk and beaches, officials announced this week. The Offshore Powerboat Association has partnered with Visit Atlantic City and the resort’s casinos to bring the event to the city.  The regatta will be the first event of the OPA National Championship Series on the northern East Coast of the United States.  Some of the fastest and most renowned racing teams from around the world will compete. Fans will get to see long, high-powered boats slicing through the water at amazing speed.

Over 100 youth sailors ages 9 – 18 from numerous clubs will compete in the Mid-Atlantic Yacht Racing Association’s South Jersey Summer Series regatta hosted by the Greater Wildwood Yacht Club. Sailors will depart from The Greater Wildwood Yacht Club in Wildwood Crest, 6501 Park Blvd., with races being visible from a variety of locations along Sunset Lake. A Jersey Shore Triathlon at its finest! Since 2004, Tri the Wildwoods has been the flagship race for DelMoSports. Before TRI AC, before Escape the Cape, and before IRONMAN 70.3 Atlantic City there was Tri the Wildwoods. Coined a “Rite of Passage Race,” by the Cape May Star & Wave, Tri the Wildwoods has always been known as a race of unpredictable weather, a challenging course, and possibly the best after party for a triathlon in the state of New Jersey! Simply stated, it’s a “must do” triathlon ‘down the Jersey Shore!

Past champions of this race include USAT Olympian Joe Maloy (a Wildwoods native!), former USAT Olympian Jarod Shoemaker, and Lifetime Fitness Champion Alicia Kaye. The spirit of this Classic Jersey Shore Triathlon is not with the pros, but with the “Joe’s”; the thousands of age groupers who have made it to the starting line since 2004. The Run the Crest 5K is set to begin at 7 am, with the Run the Crest 10-miler following at 8 am. Those who wish to complete a half marathon can run in both races. The Crest Kids Fun Run, open to children ages 10 and under, will be held at 11 am.  The event will feature individual and team registration. This event has become a staple in the Wildwoods, attracting visitors who love great oldies music.  The Wildwoods '50s, '60s & '70s Weekend is a musical celebration of the Wildwoods' role in the birth of Rock 'n' Roll. This year's event features a concert on Saturday, October 19, headlined by the legendary American actor, singer and former teen idol, Mr. Frankie Avalon.  Tickets go on sale on Ticketmaster May 9.
