Travel & Leisure, one of the premier travel magazines/websites in the US, has JUST released their 8 Best Places to Buy a Beach Vacation Home in the U.S.

There are a lot of options: according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, there are around 95,000 miles of coastline in the USA!  So, it's a huge but expected honor for Cape May County, which boasts some of the best beach destinations in the country.

The town to make the list?  Two, actually: Stone Harbor and Avalon, collectively known as Seven Mile Island.

Seven miles of white-sand beaches, family-friendly amenities, eclectic dining, and charming boutiques have made Avalon and Stone Harbor, the two towns that share Seven Mile Island, a favorite vacation destination among affluent travelers.

The towns bill themselves as family-oriented and offering a slower way of live than some of its neighboring islands. Residents enjoy golfing, tennis, bocce, pickleball, and an endless list of water sports.

In February 2022, the median sales price on the island was $1,876,000, an increase of $153,000 compared to last year, according to New Jersey Association of Realtors.  Only about 14% of homes are used year-round, making Seven Mile Island the ultimate summer getaway for most homeowners.
