Shark Week Blimp To Fly Over Cape May County Beaches
July 8th 2022

Starting Friday, Jersey Shore beachgoers will not be safe from sharks in the sea or the air.
The Discovery Channel’s long-running Shark Week is returning later this month and to herald its arrival, the East Coast-based Shark Week blimp will travel the skies over the Atlantic Ocean.
Traveling approximately 250 miles per day, the shark-shaped blimp, measuring 128-feet long by 44-feet high, will take off from Nashville and will be able to be seen in New Jersey on Friday, according to a statement from Discovery.
The blimp will be flying over beaches in Cape May, Ocean City, and Atlantic City on Friday as it continues to make its way north.
Cities are subject to change depending on weather and other conditions and Discovery asked potential blimp-watchers to visit www.SharkWeek.com/Blimp for up to the minute updates.
