New Crest Arts Pavilion Grand Opening Ceremony June 16

Opening Ceremony: The Borough of Wildwood Crest will host a grand opening ceremony for its new Crest Arts Pavilion on Friday, June 16 at 5 pm. The public is welcome to attend.
The Crest Arts Pavilion is located at 6301 Ocean Avenue (Ocean Avenue & Wisteria Road).
The Crest Arts Pavilion has been created through a renovation project of the previous Wildwood Crest library building. The building will serve as the hub of artistic activities in Wildwood Crest, with many programs and activities planned for the future.
In addition, the Crest Arts Pavilion also serves as Wildwood Crest's new tourism information center and as the site of sales of official borough merchandise. There is also a lease opportunity for a small cafe.
A "soft opening" of the Crest Arts Pavilion building was held in late March, when entries into the Wildwood Crest Creative Arts Council's Cape May County art competition were displayed and winners were announced. The building has been open daily since May 1.
Renovations were partly funded by a DCA Small Cities grant. The borough has also applied for funding through the Cape May County Open Space program to aid with work toward further site improvements and landscaping that is set to begin in the fall.
Light refreshments will be served. No registration is necessary to attend the event.
Create In The Crest Arts Festival: The 2nd Annual Create in the Crest Arts Festival, an event designed to showcase various types of art, will be held Saturday, June 17 from 9 am - 1 pm at Centennial Park in Wildwood Crest.
Hosted by the Wildwood Crest Creative Arts Council, the Create in the Crest Arts Festival will feature local artists, entrepreneurs, musicians and other creators displaying, selling and teaching their art. Vendor space is still available. Admission to the Create in the Crest Arts Festival is FREE.
Attendees will have the opportunity to not only experience various types of art, but also learn how to create art from some of the artists themselves via short free classes and workshops.
The Create in the Crest Arts Festival's vendors include handmade arts and crafts, handmade jewelry, pottery, hand-painted floral designs, sea glass art, silk screening, wooden enamel art and more. Free classes will be available in a variety of art forms. Registration for art classes will take place on the day of the event.
The event will also feature live music.
Rain date for the Create in the Crest Arts Festival is Sunday, June 18 from 9 am - 1 pm.
