The Cape May County Zoo recently welcomed two new baby girl capybaras and they need some names. To name the babies, the zoo is turning to the public and hosting a "Capybara Naming Contest."
The contest will have two parts. First, between April 28 and May 6, create an account on their website and make a five dollar donation. On checkout, submit names for twin girls. Zookeepers will pick three sets of names from those submitted. Here's where you can donate.
Next, from May 7 to 29, winners will be chosen through votes. You can either vote online with a donation or in person at the zoo entrance. The names with the most donations will be given to the new baby capybaras.
The winners will be announced on May 30, Memorial Day.
The CMC Zoo ranks as one of the best of the world. Better yet, it's FREE and runs on donations and community support.
