4H Fair Returns To Cape May Court House

The Cape May County 4-H Foundation will hold their annual 4-H Fair & Chicken BBQ from Thursday, July 18th through Saturday, July 20th, located at the 4-H fairgrounds on Dennis Rd in Cape May Court House.
The three day fair will have fun and educational exhibits, pet show, livestock and horse shows, plenty of great food including the CMC Board of Agriculture’s Chicken BBQ every day starting at 5pm, live music and entertainment, bouncy rides for kids, vendors, and much more! Admission to the fair is free.

Fair hours will be 3 to 10 p.m. Thursday and 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday. The fair will kick off with a grand opening parade and ceremony at 4:30 p.m. Thursday.

Each night at 5 p.m. there will be a chicken barbecue. Tickets for the barbecue are $22 per platter, with tickets going on sale at 4 p.m. each day on the fairgrounds.

Fair favorites include livestock and equestrian shows, a livestock auction, a children’s discovery area and more than 70 vendors. Amusement rides, carnival games and more will be on the fairgrounds’ midway.
This year’s headlining performers will be CAT 5 and the Double Shot Band. CAT 5 will perform from 7 to 10 p.m. Friday, and the Double Shot Band will perform from 7 to 10 p.m. Saturday.

An opportunity to win a year’s supply of pet food will be offered at 10 a.m. Saturday at the pet show on the main stage. The cost is $1 per class entry and is open to children and adults. Anyone can participate, even if they are not a 4-H member.
A flag retirement ceremony will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Flag Plaza.
Rides and carnival games will be offered from 5 to 10 p.m. Thursday and Friday and noon to 4 p.m. Saturday. Individual ride tickets are $1.25, 20 tickets are $20, 45 tickets are $40, 60 tickets are $50 and wristbands will be offered for $25 each.

Limited premium parking will be available for $10 at the Atlantic Cape Community College campus next to the fairgrounds. Free parking will be available at the Cape May County Park & Zoo with free shuttle service to the fair.
