As beach season approaches, shoregoers planning visits to Cape May County beaches should take note of the latest beach tag fees and policies for 2025.

Several towns require beach tags for access, with some offering discounts for early purchases and free access for veterans and active military personnel.

Avalon and Stone Harbor

Avalon and Stone Harbor continue their reciprocal agreement, allowing beach tags from either town to be used in both locations. Beach tags are required for individuals 12 and older. 

• Seasonal: $35 (before May 31), $40 (after May 31)
• Weekly: $17
• Daily: $8
• Free: Children under 12 and veterans

Cape May

Cape May beachgoers can purchase tags at a lower rate before the end of April. Commercial beach tags are available for businesses. 

• Seasonal: $30 (before April 30), $40 (after April 30)
• Weekly: $25
• 3-Day: $20
• Daily: $10
• Commercial: $125
• Free: Children 11 and under, veterans and active-duty personnel (including Coast Guard and New Jersey National Guard)

Cape May Point

Cape May Point maintains its policy of free beach tags for veterans and active military members and their immediate families.  

• Seasonal: $40 (before May 31), $50 (after May 31)
• Weekly: $25
• Daily: $10
• Commercial: $100
• Free: Children under 12, veterans and active-duty military personnel

North Wildwood, Wildwood, Wildwood Crest and Strathmere

Beachgoers in these towns will be happy to know that beach access remains free, with no tag required.

Ocean City

Ocean City offers discounted seasonal beach tags if purchased before May 31. Veterans and active-duty military personnel receive complimentary seasonal tags.  

• Seasonal: $30 (before May 31), $35 (after May 31)
• Weekly: $20
• Daily: $10
• Free: Children under 12, veterans and active-duty military personnel

Sea Isle City

Sea Isle City offers a mid-May deadline for discounted seasonal tags. The town also provides complimentary weekly tags for active-duty military members and one free seasonal tag per veteran.

• Seasonal: $25 (before May 15), $30 (after May 15)
• Weekly: $15
• Daily: $10
• Free: Children under 12, veterans (one complimentary tag per veteran), active-duty military members (plus immediate family)
• Bonus: Wednesdays are Free Beach Days (except on July 4)
