This week we focused on five trending bedroom designs from Instagram that represent some of today’s hottest “core” looks.

1. ‘Junglecore’

With the warm weather taking its sweet time getting here, this “junglecore” look from @bohemian_decors is the perfect antidote to the boring, bare-bones bedroom decor you’ve been staring at all winter.

“Junglecore connects us to nature and symbolizes growth and renewal—adding warmth, positivity, and a calming effect to the space,” says designer Julio Arco, of Bark and Chase. “Focus on incorporating natural elements like plants, botanical prints, and materials like wood or rattan to achieve this look. Layering textures and choosing bold, vibrant colors will help reinforce the theme.”

2. ‘Cottagecore’

Looking for a transformative look that’s a little less wild? Then you might just like this tamed but charming “cottagecore” design from @hearts_at_claremont.

“The heart of cottagecore is a feeling of coziness and an appreciation of the wonders of the past,” says designer Kathy Kuo. “It’s almost like a fusion of an upscale French country farmhouse mixed with the quaintness of hygge. The perfect cottagecore bedroom will make you feel like you’re staying at an English countryside inn.”

3. ‘Cluttercore’

Contrary to popular belief, clutter can be a good thing—planned clutter, that is. We were drawn to this maximalist cluttercore look from @maryfsaunders. It looks lived-in and comfortable.

“Cluttercore is a bold, eclectic, and visually stimulating approach to interiors, and when executed thoughtfully, can create a space that sparks joy and inspiration,” says Arco. “Contrasting colors add an immediate sense of energy, while nature-inspired and geometric patterns further enhance the visual complexity and provide a feast for the eyes.”

4. ‘Coastal grandma’

Another decor aesthetic that caught fire on social media and has been particularly popular with Gen Z is “coastal grandma.” It’s on full display in this look from @reneecusano.

“If you’ve ever dreamed about your perfectly decorated beach house on Nantucket, then this trend is for you,” says Kuo. “When designing a coastal grandmother-inspired bedroom, aim to mix natural and beachy materials—like cane, rattan, and reclaimed wood—with luxurious textures like linen and cashmere.”

5. ‘Barbiecore’

Maybe it’s the effect of the “Barbie” movie trailer dropping, but there’s something about this “Barbiecore” look from @thiscolourfulnest that we can’t get enough of.

“To achieve this look, embrace bold colors and patterns, particularly shades of pink, while also incorporating solid, complementary hues to create visual balance,” says Arco. “Include natural elements like plants, and experiment with unique, playful accessories that evoke the charm of a pink bedroom.”
